As a therapist from a social justice background, I deeply value the experiences each person brings with them into a session. I find that it is important to look at how values and brain-functioning shape the way we see the world. Empowerment through education and use of Harm Reduction Philosophy can help people to make healthy choices and improve their functioning in their relationships and self-care. I support my clients through building resources, problem-solving, and learning to use coping tools and self-awareness. Your wellbeing is the goal; the process to get there is the work in, and outside of, a therapy session. I use an eclectic model of treatment drawing from my trainings in trauma treatments. My MSW degree from CalPoly Humboldt, had a focus in Rural and Native Communities, examining systems and values. Together we will look at the past and to the future in examining relationships. I work with clients to build resilience through creativity, courage, and community.
