As a humanistic, relational-cultural therapist, I believe all individuals are experts in their own lives and possess the ability to move toward awareness, acceptance, and connection. Our environment influences our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and individuals can grow and even thrive if they are willing and ready to look honestly at whatever has them feeling "stuck." I often help people think through and reprocess complex developmental, psychological and cultural trauma influencing symptoms they present. My interventions with clients tend to include mindful, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), existential, narrative, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and somatic ("bottom-up") approaches. I am EMDR Certified through EMDRIA and often integrate the 8 phases of EMDR into my work.
