Working with a therapist can be viewed in many ways, but I often like to compare it to shoe shopping; you may get lucky on the first pick, or you might have to try on a few pairs before making the purchase. However, when you find the right fit, it may take you to places you’ve never been before. Choosing a therapist you can trust and feel at ease with can make all the difference by leading to a path of empowerment and growth. We cannot escape or undo the pain of past experiences, but we can explore unaddressed emotions, improve our ability to cope, and manage conflicts that prevent us from finding a peaceful balance.
