My practice focus is veterinary social work. I focus on helping veterinary professionals through periods of compassion fatigue and build rhythms of intentional wellness for the future, whether individually or as a practice group. I also work with humans mourning the recent loss or anticipating the loss of a companion animal, which includes pets, service dogs (or mini horses), and emotional support animals. I continue to research the human-animal bond to support the humans in these special relationships, which fosters the well-being of all. I also assist other helpers with their intentional wellness journeys, specifically other social workers, child protection workers, and emergency-focused medical professionals. Similarly, while I focus on grief related to the loss of a companion animal, I am open to helping anyone with their grief processes.
