A comprehensive psychoeducational or neurodevelopmental assessment can help identify why someone might be experiencing challenges, whether those be educational, developmental, behavioral, or emotional. The assessment results aid in providing a specific plan of action for intervention, with the goal of helping that individual experience greater successes and well-being. However, I believe the purpose of an assessment should not solely be to diagnose or just to identify reasons as to why someone is having difficulty, but to uncover and highlight their strengths in order to help them build upon those strengths going forward.
