About
Anxiety, depression, guilt, childhood trauma, unresolved experiences of loss, abandonment, or betrayal, are only a few possible explanations for what may stand in your way of achieving a sense of self-fulfillment, satisfying relationships, and a sense of security. Through psychotherapy, you can gain a better understanding of the underlying issues which compromise your ability to get what you need and optimally use your potential. These issues can be effectively worked through to ease their grip over your emotional well being and enable you to gain better control over your life by making better choices. I am an adjunct professor and supervisor at the Derner Institute at Adelphi University and faculty member at the Suffolk Institute for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. I published and presented papers in the areas of eating disorders, multicultural identity, anxiety, shame, trauma, and therapeutic relationships.
