We aren't born knowing how to be caregivers, nor may we ever fully anticipate the challenges of the role. Many of us don’t even recognize that we are caregivers - we see ourselves simply as daughters, sons, spouses, or family members doing what needs to be done. We might feel joy in caring for a loved one or resentment for looking after someone who never cared for us. Regardless, we may feel like we are not doing enough to take care of our family member and often worry that no matter what we do, it will never be enough.
