I am a practicing licensed mental health counselor in Buffalo NY and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. I firmly believe in a Harm Reduction approach to life, not just providing therapy for clients. I also emphasize the importance of the relationship that is therapy and the communication that takes place in the therapeutic environment. I understand the importance of trust in your treatment provider and put my all into reinforcing that my clients can trust me with their deepest. No shame or judgement allowed. That's not my job and would be significantly counterproductive to our goal of change. Shame in treatment, not here. ADV View 5 Photos When I begin treatment with any new client, I have several initial goals I have to meet in order to be effective. I have to gain trust, which can be very difficult. I have to convince clients that they're capable of change, which can also be a challenge. Lastly, I have to convince clients that they're worth all of this. The biggest hurdle and my favorite.
