As a first-generation college graduate and the first in my family to seek therapy as a daughter of immigrants, I am familiar with living with a sense that "something is wrong with me". But what if nothing is "wrong", except our definition of right and wrong? What if you're allowed to exist as you are? I believe that the things we feel make us "different", or "too much" are our strengths and that healing begins when we stop trying to fit into molds that were not meant for us. Healing happens when we re-connect to our cultural roots, and discover the resilience of our ancestors and families.
