I would describe my style as active and directive, focusing on assisting clients to gain insight while utilizing cognitive behavioral strategies to help bring about desired change. I enjoy dialogue and collaboration with my clients. I do recommend readings and give homework assignments as appropriate. I believe education is a major component of the counseling process. I work with individuals, couples and families ages 18+ addressing substance abuse/addiction, relationship issues, anger management, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life transitional issues and gay/lesbian issues.
