About

Hi, I’m April Fleming! I have always had a passion for helping others. My life experiences have given me a unique opportunity to be able to understand the struggles of others and help them navigate those struggles. I recently retired after 25 years in the education field. I have worked as both an educator and a counselor. I believe it is hard to be one without the other. I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of West Alabama in 2018. I am currently an Associate Licensed Counselor working under the supervision of Carrie Halladay here at Halladay Counseling. My areas of focus as a counselor are children, teens, adults and families with a primary focus to help other parents who have children with special needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Based Therapy to treat depression, anxiety, trauma, anger issues, and self esteem.
