We're the generation raised by parents of the 50s, 60s, and 70s - pushed into college and graduate school because our parents worked so hard for us to have the freedom to get higher education and “professional” careers, so we better not forget or squander their sacrifices, right? We have entered the workforce in droves as doctors, accountants, nurses, bankers, therapists, business owners, IT specialists, lawyers, clergy, teachers, social workers, etc., and lost who we are at our core.
