My overall philosophy as a counseling psychologist is that although therapy can be hard work, it should also be easy to get into, easy to get out of, and easy to return to when needed. I am a generalist with a focus on working with women, LGBTQ individuals and couples, developing professionals, and clinicians. My approach to psychotherapy is collaborative, and I incorporate a variety of treatment methods as appropriate, including process-experiential, narrative, and solution-focused strategies. I strive to create an environment where people feel supported and challenged to explore fears, discover strengths, and achieve goals. I am an experienced psychologist who draws on both clinical practice and over 20 years of experience training graduate students in both counseling and clinical psychology. Teaching talented doctoral students current research and theory informs my practice.
