Have you ever seen the picture of the stooped over old man carrying a long black bag on his back? Just looking at him makes you realize how tired he is. We all have our own black bags. In them, we stuff our depression, anxieties, abuse history, shame, and secrets. If those experiences are in our own bag, we think they are hidden. The trouble is, the bag gets heavier and heavier. Therapy can help to unload the bag we carry. Re-frame "I need therapy" to "I want therapy" because I too am just tired. We can unload all these issues one at a time.
