As a first-generation Haitian American woman, I experienced and witnessed the profound impact of this cultural intersectionality of my life. It influenced how I approached relationships and made me acutely aware of the glass ceiling faced by women, particularly those of Black or Brown heritage. It taught me empathy and compassion for my mother and grandmother-navigating mountain-like challenges such as language barriers. This realization spurred me to challenge stereotypes, break barriers, and address intergenerational trauma.
