You feel like if you tell the truth, you may lose everything. It is embarrassing to share what is really going on, but something has to give. Maybe someone else thinks you need to go to therapy, but you think therapy is for other people and you are not one of them. You're not alone. I have been in your shoes, sitting across from a stranger, hoping that someone understood the pain that I was in but not wanting to get all “touch-feely”.
