The quality I most desire in clients is authenticity. I view the therapeutic relationship as being based upon mutual trust, and it is difficult to enact meaningful change if we fail to present our genuine selves. However, I also acknowledge that we all have different experiences, and there is no need to be concerned if it takes varying amounts of time to build trust in the therapeutic relationship. I have experience working with the following: nearly all mood disorders and personality disorders, substance dependency, dual diagnosis, trauma, adolescent crime, couples counseling, family counseling.
