Children struggle to keep up in a world built for adults, with timelines and expectations their brains are not yet ready to handle. When their early years also include trauma, family discord, and other disruptions to their development, their struggle is compounded. Impulsivity, mood disorders, inability to focus, clashing with authority figures, and acting inappropriately in relationships are a few of the outcomes that can be observed in such children. They and their families are often at a loss of how to change these behaviors so that their days can be happier and more peaceful.
