I work with adolescents and young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or those grappling with executive functioning challenges, sense of self, or sexual identity. A young diagnosis of ASD or ADHD can present so many challenges to the individual and family, but with proper support and education, we can find the strengths and talents that come along with the challenges. On the other hand, an adulthood diagnosis can carry an immense amount of grief and resentment around the lack of knowledge and necessary support in their upbringing.
