My primary mission is to help build meaningful lives by in exploring the "why" (reasons) that support the "how" (skills) learned in other work. All of us know past hurt or other struggles, so my clients work on conflicts, disappointment, hurt feelings, sadness, grief, loss, or other strong emotions, but I hope to help increase mastery, sense of identity, and purpose. My strategies are adapted from my experience with trauma (CPTSD), attachment, personality disorders and character, family dynamics, recovery/addiction, toxic shame, grief, parent-child relationships (incl. estrangement), premarital counseling, and life transitions. I have 20+ years' experience matching approaches with specific life circumstances. I have trained in a number of specific therapy models, including IFS, CBT, Solution-Focused, Intergenerational Family Therapy, Object-Relations and Biblical Counseling.
