I believe that all humans have greatness within themselves; it's important to work with a therapist who sees yours (even if you or others do not). I work well with young adults to seniors who are leery about seeking help, feel coaxed in to counseling, or who have had bad experiences in the past. I strive to make you feel comfortable so you can be honest with me - and yourself - about your problems, mood complaints, or substance use. Others tell me they immediately sense my genuineness and non-judgmental character. I have a special interest in working with individuals with problematic substance use, as well as the mood disorders and trauma history that almost always accompanies. With 16+ years of work at a community mental health center, and then an opioid treatment program, I've had many opportunities for training in best-practice, evidence-based treatment.
