Looking for the right therapist can be rough! I'll try to make it easier, and start by telling you a little about me: I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has been practicing as a Clinician for 10 years. I received my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College in Boston. Prior to this, I "temporarily" moved to Quincy, Massachusetts from a suburb outside of Philadelphia after my Father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that metastasized to his liver. I loved the city of Boston so much, I never went back. In 21 years, I have worked inpatient, outpatient, PHP, long term residential, you name it. I have extensive experience in treating addiction, grief & loss, depression, anxiety, and marriage counseling. I find success practicing CBT & DBT therapy, which are types of therapy that focus on changing your behavior through analyzing your thoughts. In my own experience with CBT, I fought drug addiction until 2004, so I can empathize with all involved.
