About

My ideal client would be an individual who is ambivalent relative to the need for change. They may not see the relationship between their issues and their behaviors. This client may have legal, employment and family impairment. The individual wants to be meaningfully employed and have trust in their loving relationships. However, the individual views their substance abuse or alcohol issues as secondary and attributes impairment in the domains mentioned above to external situations, people or events. They do not see their role or personal responsibility in their issues. I utilize therapeutic approaches that specialize in empowering the individual to see their true potential. This is done by building a strong working alliance where we will act as partners as the individual gains insight and works toward their goals in recovery. During this process, attention will be paid to ambivalence and resistance.
