About
Loneliness was his only reliable friend, present with each passing moment. The cigarettes ran out and the whiskey ran dry, but the emptiness never went away. Nothing ever touched it – not his love affairs or his friends… and never social media. No, that was his constant poison, offering illusory flashes of kinship with colleagues, family, and the outside world. He always went hungry – hungry for a deep connection with others where he was free to be himself. It’s a great irony, really: There have never been more opportunities to connect to others, yet there’s a loneliness epidemic – especially for men.
