When I moved to the United States, I brought with me the passion and the experience from my work as a Licensed Psychologist and Psychoanalyst in Brazil. I truly believe in the transformative and healing power of talk psychotherapy, valuing and respecting each person’s subjective experience. So many of us feel like the world is constantly telling us everything needs a quick fix so we can feel satisfied, joyful, productive, and fulfilled at all times. This reduces the complexity of the human experience to unrealistic and superficial ideals of well-being. In turn, this leads to suffering and can alienate us from who we are.
