Based on my experience in the field of therapy, as well as being a human being myself, I see that people come to therapy for a myriad of reasons. Some may need help/support in terms of specific mental diagnosis, addictions, or a combination of such things. Others may seek therapy for emotional dysregulation, dysfunction, relationships, or maybe it's just to gain a different perspective on things going on in their life. In short, I'm not sure it's possible to imagine an "ideal client" because each client is so vastly different from the next, with some similarities peppered in between, each desiring acceptance and understanding.
