Carter obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clemson University. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Mercer University. While completing her Master’s, Carter gained clinical experience integrating art and play into therapy with children and adolescents. Her previous work experience includes classroom teaching and non-profit work. Carter believes in supporting others in an effort to build their sense of self-worth and ability to manage life stressors. Carter uses an integrative approach in therapy based on the client’s unique needs. She pulls most heavily from strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, and Adlerian theoretical approaches.
