After twelve years and five colleges and universities, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Bridgewater State College. I began to teach science to adolescent males who were committed to the Department of Youth Services and residing in a residential program. During a monthly staff meeting, I observed people meeting with the youth privately and I noticed a difference in the attitudes and behaviors in the youth after these sessions. Most of the youth appeared more relaxed and receptive to life demands and for the first time in my life I thought “Wow, I would like to do that.” View 10 Photos I then received my Masters in Education in Counseling from my alma mater, going on my own spiritual and mental health journey. Buddha taught that all desire leads to suffering. In a society such as ours, it is no wonder that there is so much suffering. My role as a therapist is to help my clients move through the suffering and find joy.
