I strive to understand my clients in all of their environments. I use the lens of family therapy. My approach is strength-based, trauma-informed and built upon establishing a trusting relationship. I work with caregiver(s) and their child(ren) to help resolve issues within the home and/or school setting. I strive to discover solutions which address obstacles to social emotional functioning and academic success. Obstacles might include anxiety, depression, ADHD, executive functioning skills deficits and/or trauma. I use talk therapy (therapy dog optional), interactive social emotional learning, bibliotherapy, CBT & DBT. I help students with mental health issues that prevent them from fully accessing their education. Being in school settings can bring learning and social demands that children find difficult to negotiate, and/or issues at home can affect focus and participation at school. I am able to serve as an advocate between home and school, as well as a parenting coach.
