My ideal client is one who is aware they have past trauma and have decided to make a commitment to come to therapy to address it. Their issues include depression, anger, dissociation, psychosis, and shame. Their needs might include understanding that their basic human needs (physical, emotional, and psychological) were not met and this is a reason why they might often struggle to relate others and especially themselves. There may be a fear of opening up. What my clients want is to process their trauma and live an embodied existence - not afraid to be open and radically gentle with themselves.
