I’m an ADHD-certified therapist (ADHD-CCSP) with 13 years of experience, working in both private practice and medical settings. Many people come to therapy not because they lack insight or ability, but because their internal experience feels harder than it “should.” Motivation can be inconsistent. Emotions can feel intense or unpredictable. Decisions get stuck. Tasks pile up. Over time, this often leads to burnout from constantly pushing through, overcompensating, or masking struggles in order to keep up- especially when you’re capable, thoughtful, and trying very hard.
