About
Unseen in Plain Sight - the anguish can be debilitating and confusing. Learning to calmly see ourselves is a central part of change in therapy, both relationally and neurologically. I guide people in seeing themselves in a more grounded way, manifesting core aspirations and values, and in working themselves away from past ruptures blocking their experience of feeling resourced and regulated. I work with developmental/family of origin issues (emotional malnourishment in all of its forms), trauma, abuse and neglect, and chemical use/compulsive comfort seeking behaviors. I see individuals, couples, and families. Interpersonal ruptures can separate us from ourselves, causing us to feel lost and uncertain and guessing at who we are or "should" be. We can get lost in overvaluing and/or undervaluing ourselves, and get stuck, yet again, in experiencing the present through past pain. In therapy we work to find our way back to our most congruent sense of self.
