I believe we thrive and grow naturally when our human and material environments support our needs for both attachment and authenticity. When connection to self and other is chronically unsupported on our developmental journeys, the capacity to meet these needs tends to constrict as our nervous system mind-body shifts toward states and responses of protection at the expense of availability for nourishment. Since complex trauma lives in our whole beings, its healing involves contact between all aspects of life as interrelated, with physiology anchored in the meaning of present and past relational contexts with other and with self. I offer a deep belief that among the most powerful resources for healing are relationships that value and respect the wisdom we possess and support us being more ourselves. I see humanness / care, intuition, open-minded acceptance, non-reactivity, authenticity / transparency, intelligence and thoughtfulness as among my most therapeutically valuable assets.
