I believe the most critical aspect of psychotherapy is our working relationship. I think of myself as a fellow traveler with my patients: I bring my expertise in human beings generally and you bring your experience with yourself in particular, and together we map out a path that feels right for you. I focus on identifying patients' existing strengths and helping them increase their capacities to cope with stress so as to lead a more satisfying life. I take a "best-tool-for-the-job," integrative approach, drawing from a range of psychotherapeutic orientations, all supported by solid science.
