Within each one of us is an inner child that holds the many hurts of our life. To survive this world, we hide the child away, building strong brick walls, preventing the child from emerging. Sometimes we use our “busyness” to ignore the cries of the child behind the barricades. Or we turn to anger, addiction and numbness to drown out the deafening cries. In our moments of brokenness, we stop and wonder, “Is this how I will have to live the rest of my life?” Trauma touches us all in different ways. The role of a therapist is to guide you through the pain and hurt so you can live a life of intention, meaning and inner peace.
