I specialize in working with adults who have experienced a variety of stressful or traumatic life events, situations, or relationships - sometimes known as developmental or complex trauma - using an approach called Internal Family Systems (IFS), which recognizes and makes space for our natural human complexity and how it manifests as a variety of parts, or aspects, of ourselves. IFS also recognizes the inherent, deeper or true self in each of us that can be our greatest source of inner growth, healing, and transformation. From this broad-based vantage point, in IFS therapy we work together to get to know your system of parts, in a spirit of curiosity and exploration. Over time, we often find that the things that lead us to seek therapy - patterns of thinking, feeling, or relating - begin to soften or transform, as we attend to and care for our inner lives in this way.
