Greetings! I've been working as a therapist for over 30 years both in NYC & here in Western Mass & I have a broad range of experience which informs my practice. Having worked in community based mental health as well as hospital & college settings over the years, I have engaged with people from ages 18 - 80 years old, from diverse cultural & class backgrounds. I have come to appreciate the value & importance of the therapeutic relationship. People enter therapy for various reasons & I will listen with a compassionate ear to understand your concerns. Trust is essential & develops when you feel heard. Change will follow. My clinical training includes psychodynamic & client centered approaches as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Depending upon the person, I incorporate a variety of techniques, which may draw upon mindfulness practices, journaling or other avenues of self expression. I will work with you in identifying challenges & pathways to growth.
