I recognize and understand that anxiety, depression, trauma, and the compounding effects of those experiences can cause a sense of helplessness. Through my own human experience as well as serving in this setting. I recognize issues of ambiguity and recovery from problems that involve the mind, emotions, and spirit are long and arduous. The important piece is to keep these things in front of us as we relearn healthy skills to engage fully with life. We also must hold on to the understanding that we are solely responsible for our overall well-being.
