Hi! I'm Deb Porter, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I received my MA in Counseling from Northeastern IL University and worked as a counselor at a large VA hospital after a 34 year career as a special ed teacher. We all deal with day-to-day challenges, some heavier than others, and being able to talk to a third party can be very helpful. I enjoy meeting new clients and helping them gain an understanding of themselves as well as others. Sometimes we need to get rid of that "stinkin' thinkin'" and I'll do my best to help! I can assist you in dealing with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of confidence. These are issues so many adults have to deal with on a daily basis. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (a fancy way of saying I'll listen to you and together we will work toward your healthy goals).
