As a parent myself, I know it's hard to see your child/teen struggle, and it's hard to know what to do and where to start. I help parents/caregivers get started: we work on navigating systems, managing big emotions, finding friends, and getting along with others. In counseling sessions, I get to know each child/teen and family and their unique way of thinking and operating in the world. Then we tackle the anxiety, depression, anger, and all emotions that are getting in the way at home or at school. As a Registered Play Therapist, I specialize in working with children ages 2+, teens, and parents, but I can work with all adults too. Strength Forward is a safe space where kids and teens can explore thoughts, emotions and behaviors using tools proven to work and that make sense in the situation. Some kids may need space to play and work through problems, while others may want to talk or need other structure and guidance. I provide both, adapting to their needs and interests.
