As an Asian-American and a child of immigrants, I grew up in a community where mental health was not talked about. I understand how difficult it is to navigate life when you feel emotionally stranded and there is no where to turn. So, though you may appear composed on the outside, on the inside, you often feel anxious and overwhelmed. You worry about how people perceive you and feel on edge, worrying about worst case scenarios and everything that could go wrong. You spend so much energy making sure everything is perfect, but you get disappointed, exhausted, and find yourself in the same cycle over again.
