Our struggles are often not as simple as they seem to be. Many clients who seek therapy to learn new coping strategies or to heal are often surprised by the complexity of the underlying issues – unresolved trauma from childhood or past relationships, intimacy, life transitions and cultural and family values. I believe that the healing begins when the clients allow their feelings and learn to stop judging themselves. They then become more open and curious about where their thoughts and feelings come from.
