Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is the most effective, gold standard treatment for chronic insomnia. CBT-I works fast, taking an average of only 6 to 8 weekly sessions. CBT-I is as effective as sleep medication in the short-term and more effective over the long-term, with treatment gains lasting years after treatment ends. Sleep problems often co-occur with anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, and borderline personality disorder symptoms.
