About
I am Dr. Kao and I have my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have over 16 years of experience working with a wide range of patients: in-patient, residential, outpatient/community mental health, substance abuse/eating disorders, and more. Since I was a child, people have always felt safe to share their stories with me and I have honed that into a skill of providing the space for patients to be open and vulnerable in therapy. I love being a part of a patient's journey to healing, self-awareness, and growth. I will go over what you should expect from therapy and I will want to get to know you and what brings you to therapy. I will guide you through a brief background (biopsychosocial) while focusing on when your life began to become less manageable (onset of symptoms).
