Psychotherapy is a deeply transformative and personal process. As such, how I work with clients is dependent on their needs, personality, and level of functioning. Although I incorporate a variety of approaches into therapy, I primarily draw from the relational psychodynamic model. This orientation assumes that in order for a person to experience emotional health, she or he must maintain fulfilling and satisfying relationships with those around them, and that emotional distress often is the result of negative, past relational experiences.
