I take a depth-oriented approach to help people understand and move beyond protective patterns, find more agency, and build capacity for learning, change, intimacy, and focus. I aim to meet people on their own terms, bringing honesty and careful thought to the dynamics that shape our inner lives, relationships, and ambitions. My approach is patient, engaged, open, and candid. I work with creative, analytic, and curious people of all genders. I also have expertise working with straight and queer men and other LGBTQ+ people. I draw on 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist, researcher, writer, and professor. People often contact me having tried therapy in the past but now realizing they want a deeper, more individualized approach to their histories and goals. Many feel frustrated by persistent experiences of depression, anxiety, isolation, trauma, anger, work and academic struggles, creative blocks, and concerns around sexuality, gender, and relationships.
