I decided that I wanted to give back and help my own community so here I am. I know all too well how it feels to grow up in "two different worlds" and feeling like I didn't belong in either (Indian or American). I also understand how it feels to be a female in the South Asian community. I recognize the pressures, stressors, competitiveness and expectations that our culture brings. As well as the guilt and shame one experiences to constantly please our families and others and always feel like "you are not enough" or "have to be perfect." I am a second generation South Asian female. As an American Born Punjabi and Burmese clinician; I speak English and understand Punjabi and Hindi. I have my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago and am a licensed therapist.
