Many of the people I work with have complicated stories and families. They have struggled with relationships and symptoms and come to therapy to sort out their experiences. I am a seasoned therapist with a full-time private practice. I have a particular interest in the impact of childhood trauma on adult relationships and the impact of shame in psychotherapy. I help adults and adolescents to have healthier relationships and incorporate EMDR to treat traumatic events and relational trauma. I help couples develop trust and intimacy through Emotionally Focused Therapy. I have a Doctorate of Social Work from Rutgers University where my area of study was the impact of shame in psychotherapy, an MSW from Columbia University, and a certificate in Psychoanalysis from CPPNJ. My approach is interactive, providing treatment which includes addressing present day experiences and understanding influences from the past.
