Our past experiences, how they affect our world views, ourselves, and others are important. We all have good and bad experiences but sometimes the bad ones can leave us with emotional scars and painful memories. For example, we might find ourselves feeling anxious, depressed, angry, violent, passive, scared, intimidated, or overly pleasing. Some may turn to alcohol, other drugs, unhealthy coping strategies or avoid people and life altogether. You're not alone.
