As humans, we sometimes avoid our more complex emotions and hope that they will disappear. However, more often than not, the feelings we turn inward find their way out, and sometimes in less-than-ideal ways. Therapy provides a unique space to explore the aspects of yourself that tend to remain hidden. It is a space to “look beneath the hood,” gaining a deeper understanding of who you are and "why" you are. With this newfound insight, we can explore new ways of engaging more fully in your life and relationships, dig into your sense of purpose, and reconnect with (or discover for the first time) feelings of stillness and joy. I integrate CBT, DBT and ACT/mindfulness-based strategies to help you cope in your day-to-day.
